In the last decade, oral implantology has become very popular among dentists because of the important advantages they offer to the doctor in developing the treatment plan and also because of the advantages offered to patients: aesthetics and comfort. The number of dental implants inserted worldwide has increased markedly. And with these, biological, technical and human error complications have increased proportionally. During the allotted time, we will present aesthetic complications of the implant-prosthetic treatment and possibilities of improving the aesthetic aspect in various clinical situations.
While dental implants have proven in the last decades to be a very safe and predictable replacement for lost teeth, achieving an esthetic result still represents a challenge in many cases. This is caused mainly by the fact that implants are almost always narrower than the teeth they replace, and the transition from the implant platform to the prosthetic restoration may have an unnatural appearance if the emergence profile is not shaped accordingly.
This presentation will discuss different methods of shaping the emergence profile of implant supported restoration, based on the topography of the tooth, timing of treatment and complexity of the case. We will discuss cases with single unit implant restorations in between natural teeth – the most challenging situation from an esthetic point of view – quadrant cases and full arch cases without pink prosthetic parts.
Dentistry is undergoing fundamental changes. Materials and treatment workflows are evolving rapidly. Dentists are facing the challange of deciding on which treatment workflows would actually benefit their patients. This lecture aims to provide firsthand knowledge on the use of multiple CAD/CAM systems in daily practice. Furthermore, the rationale behind the implementation of the workflows will be outlined along with the scientific backgrounds. After the lecture, listeners should feel confident in regard to what chairside CAD/CAM workflows work predictable in daily use to be able to decide in which way they might benefit them individualy.
While the materials available for direct restorations has changed little over the past 25 years, the number and types of materials for indirect restorations has grown almost exponentially. Patient's increasing demands for metal free, highly aesthetic restorations has been met by the profession with a number of new, but untested, materials that has led to confusion regarding what materials are appropriate to use in specific situations. Additionally, the era of digital dentistry has opened up new possibilities and manufacturers are rushing to create restorative materials that are compatible with this advancing technology. The new materials are not only esthetic, they are helping to advance the philosophy of minimally invasive dentistry and in this regard, they necessitate a change in tooth preparation techniques. This lecture will give an overview of available materials for indirect restorations and provide a guideline for their use based on the literature and over 25 years of experience with metal free restorations. New concepts in tooth preparation techniques will also be discussed.
My promise is to make a dentist’s and technician’s life much easier when it comes to dental photography. The process will be simplified to allow participants to achieve professional level dental photography, in order to allow them into greater levels of photographic proficiency. The course provides a comprehensive hands on mix of technical equipment use, intra oral photography, close-up, laboratory, cross polarisation, portrait and artistic shooting for marketing.

- Cross polarisation photography
- Laboratory photography
- Portraits & Close-ups in dentistry

Partial Extraction Therapies (a group of techniques that preserve the root or part of the
root) have demonstrated histological and clinical results contributory to aesthetics
implant treatment. In histological studies, its capacity of avoiding bone remodeling on the buccal side aspect of the root and the preservation of buccal bone plate and surrounding buccal/facial tissues, has been reported, and it seems not to interfere with implant osteointegration.
In this lecture, the author purposes to show some cases where the Partial Extration Therapies were fundamental for the aesthetic maintenance.
Do you have cases affected by peri-implantitis in your clinic? Do you understand how these cases can be related to the emergence and cervical profile of the soft tissue and the implant prosthesis?
The goal of this presentation is to help the participants understand the biologic importance of the emergence and cervical soft tissue profile and how this can relate to long term stable results. A new methodology with the use of inventive tools will be presented that has been proven to be able to deliver exceptional results in an easy and fast way.
This lecture focuses on the subject of soft and hard tissue optimisation in modern Implantology: It consist of 5 chapters that will progressively discuss the importance of optimisation in the context of current clinical reality, working processes in building the submergence profile around dental implants and the 3 workflows (Keep-Maintain-Restore) that define strategic plannification to achieve an optimised single implant treatment.
A further insight on the maintain workflow will mainly focus on the mIVAN and Cervical Socket Plug techniques for soft and hard tissue optimisation both in anterior and posterior sites. Clinical cases with mIVAN technique will be demonstrated and a step by step full protocol of the novel Cervical Socket Plug technique will be presented along with CBCT and clinical results for both Sockets type 1 and 2. A related to the previous technique biologically driven implant placement protocol will be demonstrated in detail. A discussion will follow in order to show why this new approach along with the resulting implant placement protocol might both become game changers in socket preservation and site optimisation in delayed protocols. In addition, decision criteria and clinical cases will be demonstrated for the Restore workflow along with guidelines for a new kind of approach that shortens treatment time of optimisation in edentulous sites.
